About the author
Every guide on this site is written and reviewed by Alex Turner, a lifelong cribbage enthusiast who has spent many years playing and teaching the game. Alex believes good rules should be easy for everyone to read and follow — which is why each page here is written plainly and laid out clearly. Where a rule varies from one household to the next, he explains the most common version and notes where house rules differ.
Our commitment to accuracy
Card-game rules vary by region and family, and we take getting them right seriously. We focus on the most widely played version of cribbage, double-check our scoring, and always note where common house rules differ — so you can trust what you read and adapt it to your own table.
